Side kick + continuous punch techniques

Resume training in March07, missed out 6 weeks' training and find it real hard to do side kick and my continuous punch is not in the centre line. Can't imagine when I have to perform counter kick + punch!

In particular, larching is not easy to sink down the elbow. Need to practise more at home.

Joined Thursday night training @Chatswood (Jim +Doug - both are Level 3), the hall is located in tennis centre. For some reasons, the floorboards are slippery + quite dirty, don't feel comfortable to do situp there ^_^.

Started training four (4) times @week and it helps to keep my morale and flexibility. I can do better lower heel kick now, but as Hank mentioned, my back isn't straight and I shift my shoulder to compensate for the kick, again, more practise.

Every Saturday afternoon, I poped to City Branch and watched SiHing class (1pm-2.30pm). Real impressed and hope one day I will join in SiHing Class (that would be another 4 years to go, I reckon).

Xmas06/New Year07 training @City

2006 was a good start for Wing Chun and we were so dedicated for training, XMas 06 and New Year 07 break we went to City branch a few times (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday).
Trained with SiHing: David (Size L), Brett, Lawrence, Brian, Richard, Scott + a few new faces (sorry I should remember their names next time).

Learnt a lot in 2 weeks time: parry-punch/larching/punch/side strike, side-kick, hook-kick, single hand Chi Shou is still too hard for me.

A brilliant start for New Year 2007! Training at City on 06Jan2007 was excellent. Twins trained with Brett and Twins was real impressed to learn that much in 1.5 hours. I had pulled my right forearm muscles (becoz of excessive martial art trainings/lawn mowing etc) hence couldn't train at all (still can't do Dan Shou and feel stiff when twisting my wrist). Jonathan had mossi bites all over his arms, I was so lucky to miss that class ~0_0~.

Looking forward to resume my Wing Chun training this Friday @Eastwood!

Sunday @City branch

It was a relatively small class. <10 members.

1) Learnt a lot with crossed-arm grab: Tan Sau and hit lower back.

2) Double arm grab, used "bridging the gap" technique. The timing to kick and let go both hands are important.

3) Learnt how to keep stance + stand straight when moving forward.

4) When someone grab upon your shirt/chest, use cross arm to pul the fist and twist the attacker's arm and use other hand to hit elbow - weakest point. Knee down, can hit attacker's arm with your knee.

Need to concentrate on how to grab the arm and tan sau... heemmmm!

Saturday Wing Chun - missed

Today we trained >2.5 hours at other venue for another martial art and just too tired to practise @City branch. Sorry Steve.

We will pop to City branch tomorrow (Sunday) and hopefully we can catch up what we missed this afternoon.

Hank was holding our "farewell gift" on his last day training with us. I should have prepared a better gift... heemmmm.

Farewell Instructor Hank

Tonight was the last training session with Instructor Hank. We took a few photos with him + a present (he requested) - box of Green Tea Crackers.

We had been training with Instructor Hank @Eastwood since September2006. It was great fun and wish him all the best in his new adventure back home --> find a job/girl friend(s) + start a family.

All the best!
